Refinement of the gap:
A wearable artifact, that improves recognition in for cyclist in traffic and looks appealing.
I did a mixture of interviewing people in person (3) and on the phone (2) and took notes. I got much more statements talking face to face. I also observed random cyclists in the street from my view as a driver. I noticed, that not everybody feels as unsafe as me in traffic.
I arranged all different statements on single pieces of paper (I didn't have post it's...). This helped me to move them around and divide them into cluster .

My gap from #week 1 was:
I would like to design a solution to make me feel more protected on my bike in traffic.

        more general
Why
  • Why do people drive
  • Why do cars dominate streets
  • Why are cyclists vulnerable
  • Why are cyclists not save in traffic
  • Why do I want to feel more protected

In what way might I ...
  • reduce bike accidents in traffic
  • improve safety for bikers
  • increase awareness of cyclists on the streets
  • protect bikers from cars
  • *improve conspicuity/visibility of bikers
  • design protective apparel
  • put lights/reflectors on apparel
